Our mission is to work for and with people to provide and maintain suitable housing that is affordable.
Umpqua Community Property Management and the connection to NeighborWorks Umpqua
Umpqua Community Property Management (UCPM) was established in 2007 to better serve the residents of properties developed and owned by the Oregon nonprofit, NeighborWorks Umpqua. NeighborWorks Umpqua was established in 1991 to create and sustain affordable housing opportunities in Douglas, Lane, Coos, Curry, Josephine, and Jackson County in Oregon. UCPM is a strategic property management partner that helps fulfill NeighborWorks Umpqua mission of promoting opportunity for all. NeighborWorks Umpqua continues to develop, build, and rehab affordable housing.
Resident Services provided by NeighborWorks Umpqua
NeighborWorks Umpqua has Resident Service Plans for each of its multi-family residential complexes, designed to suit the unique needs of the residents. Each site features a Community Resource Center that provides information and access to local social services available to them.
In addition, NeighborWorks Umpqua classes and services, such as Financial Fitness workshops, the ABCs of Homebuying class, and the Dream$avers and DreamBuilders services, are offered, along with social gatherings, after-school programs, and other activities and events.
Each holiday season we receive grants to help provide holiday assistance and cheer. These activities include holiday parties for all our residents.
Resident Advisory Committee
NeighborWorks Umpqua Resident Advisory Committee, composed of residents, managers, and community leaders, focuses on developing leadership skills and advising NeighborWorks Umpqua’s Board of Directors on resident issues. They are informed of Board issues and proceedings, enabling them to pass this information on to tenants. The Advisory Committee helps to develop onsite community plans addressing the needs of each complex and makes recommendations for programs, amenities, and services for new housing developments.
Every other year, members of the Advisory Committee are offered Community Leadership Training through NeighborWorks America. This enables resident members the opportunity to travel to sites across the country in order to network and brainstorm with residents from the Western States Region. Participants learn how others deal with similar issues to take a proactive role in their communities. Check out volunteer opportunities related to resident services.
